Announcing a Low Cost Professional MPEG-2 Authoring System Incorporating VisionTech's MPEG-2 Encoder and Daikin's Scenarist DVD Authoring Software

TEL AVIV, Israel - VisionTech, Ltd. and CD Revolution, the world's leading distributor of CD recording technology are pleased to announce a professional, low cost DVD authoring system. The authoring system incorporates the MVision10- PCI(tm) full D1 MPEG-2 encoder and Daikin's Scenarist DVD Authoring software.

The authoring system was developed for games developers and users from the corporate, education and government sectors. The system enables users to author and place short-length DVD videos (up to 14 minutes in length) on a low cost recordable CD, and full length video on DVD or DLT tape. "The incorporation of the MVision10-PCI MPEG-2 encoder into CD Revolution's DVD products represents a significant achievement for the company," stated Ian Jones, marketing manager of CD Revolution. Jones continues, "The digital television broadcasting quality of the MVision10-PCI made by VisionTech ensures that the quality of pictures and sound which can be produced by the system is on the highest level." The short-length video clips recorded on inexpensive CD-Rs are ideal for limited budget projects for developing games, presentations, training, promotional videos and playback.

"We are delighted that CD Revolution has chosen to incorporate the MVision10-PCI MPEG-2 Encoder. This solution allows users to author professional broadcast quality video clips while significantly reducing the system costs," said VisionTech executive sales and marketing manager, Tommy Orpaz. He continues, "As the cost of MPEG-2 Encoders, DVD Authoring software and DVD recorders are becoming more affordable, the demand for DVD Authoring Systems from multimedia departments for education, presentation and entertainment applications will increase substantially. Most importantly, customers can now benefit from high quality, low cost MPEG-2 DVD content creation".

"The integration capabilities of companies like CD Revolution, coupled with products such as the VisionTech MVision10-PCI MPEG-2 encoder are leading the way toward high quality, cost efficient DVD Authoring systems" says Michael Bahlo, Director of Marketing of Daikin U.S Comtec Laboratories the provider of the Scenarist DVD Authoring software. Bahlo continues, "To date, one of the most significant impediments to volume applications of DVD authoring systems has been the cost of MPEG-2 encoding. Now with the MVision10-PCI, the market has an opportunity to expand rapidly." The easy-to-use Scenarist NT Basic provides DVD authors all the functionality needed to create simple DVD Titles.
