STRATA SHIPS STUDIOPRO 2.5.3
Adds Motion Capture Import, MiniCAD Support, and Windows 98

today began shipping the latest update to StudioPro, its widely
popular 3D modeling, rendering, and animation software for both
Mac and Windows platforms. StudioPro 2.5.3 utilizes a newly
developed file format and associated plug-ins to directly import
motion capture data and rich movement scripting.

The Strata Motion Hierarchy, or
.shm, format that brings this new power was developed in conjunction
with Credo Interactive, makers of the industry-leading Life
Forms motion capture software. Credo recently announced a Life
Forms plug-in to work with StudioPro. With the 2.5.3 update,
StudioPro users can easily apply the fluid movements from a
Life Forms motion capture session to an IK structure or import
a customizable walk sequence and associate it with an animated
character. When using the .shm format, all motion data is brought
directly into StudioPro's Project Window, complete with keyframe
markers and all associated parameters. Moreover, Strata's new
format is streamlined for cleaner import and additional parameters
such as IK constraint settings can be included.

Additionally, In the architectural
market, StudioPro 2.5.3 will now appeal even more broadly to
the many users of Diehl Graphsoft's MiniCAD who rely on StudioPro
for beautiful architectural renderings. MiniCAD architectural
files can now be output to StudioPro via MiniCAD's Strata-native
format option, instead of going through a conversion process.
The Strata format maintains MiniCAD's layers and shapes data
much more effectively than other file formats such as DXF, allowing
the user to focus time and effort on essential tasks such as
texturing, lighting, and detailing.
Moreover, this update also brings
Windows 98TM compatibility to StudioPro, currently running on
either Mac OS or Windows NT TM, further expanding the program's
potential in the PC world.
