Solution 3: Use the Gradient effect and Matte effect in conjunction
with another image.
Now that
we have our ready-made Matte effect and matte (the grayscale
gradient), we can composite either actual cloud footage or computer
generated sky colors created in a paint program.
Create
your sky or capture clouds from another shot.
Delete
the original color gradient.(Tip: Another possibility is
to use the original shot and use the color correction effect
and/or adjust the saturation/contrast with the image filter
effect and replace the original color gradient with that.)
Put the
new clouds/sky in the place of the original gradient. Source
the matte's S1 to this new clip.
Render
a single frame preview of the composite and adjust your grayscale
gradient matte until it looks correct.
