Using Digital Fusion to Create a "Teleporter" Effect

This cool effect used by several feature films and television series has become a de-facto standard in science fiction visual effects to represent a means of futuristic transportation. It requires little pre-production planning and can easily be achieved using a few simple tools in Digital Fusion.

Follow the steps below using the tutorial images supplied with Digital Fusion on the three Image CDs, to create a cloaking/de-cloaking effect.

Step 1. Start Digital Fusion, which will automatically provide a new Flow.

Step 2. Using Windows NT Explorer, Drag and drop any file from the Trooper_1 folder in the second Image CD, to any tile on the flow. This will automatically add a Loader tool to the flow, then load and sort all the files in the folder.
