Extensis Preflight Pro To Support Adobe InDesign

Award-winning Preflighting Application Will Enable Users To Inspect and Troubleshoot Adobe InDesign Documents

Portland, OR - Extensis Corporation today announced that it plans to support Adobe InDesign through Preflight Pro, its award-winning preflighting software. By incorporating support for the Adobe InDesign file format in Extensis Preflight Pro, users can isolate potential output problems early in the production workflow to eliminate pre-press waste.

After using Preflight Pro to track down problems and fix them, users can have Preflight Pro automatically collect all elements (e.g. fonts, images, or embedded images) needed for output, write an electronic job ticket containing job specifications, and compress the entire job for shipping to a printer. The program will allow preflighting of documents to be automated for batch processing.

"With support of Extensis Preflight Pro in Adobe InDesign, Extensis continues to set the pace in delivering the next generation in digital publishing solutions," said Joe Schorr, senior product manager, Extensis. "Preflight Pro won't just flag errors, but navigate directly to problem areas and provide users with the information required to make needed repairs." Support for Adobe InDesign will be incorporated into upcoming versions of Extensis Preflight Pro and Collect Pro, the company's inspection and collection utility aimed at designers and content creators.

"We are proud to work with a recognized preflighting industry leader to bring world-class support to our customers," said Hank Skorny, senior director, professional publishing solutions, Adobe Systems, Inc. "With Preflight Pro support from Extensis, users will now be able to create virtually error-free Adobe InDesign documents."
