Mary: A Short Comedic Film Inspired by the Global Women’s March launches Indiegogo Campaign!(September 28, 2017)
Mary Tries to Get a Piece is an all new and upcoming short comedic film about a confident, attractive Mexican girl looking for a one night stand. The film is inspired by the Global Women’s March and will be filmed and based in Los Angeles, California. The creator of this film is Eric A. Vasallo, a screenwriter for over 20 years, children’s book author and male feminist who is now welcoming everyone to generously support this film via a crowdfunding campaign launched on Indiegogo.
“Mary is a short comedic film inspired by the Global Women's March that reinforces sisterhood, equality and the importance of standing up,” said the creator Eric A. Vasallo, while talking about the film on Indiegogo. “It is a story that shows how struggle can help us discover our personal power to keep us free and in an awakened state,” he added. The film will be directed by Robin Cloud, a Brooklyn-based comedian, writer, and director.
Mary, the central character of this short film is a Mexican-American, millennial lesbian who is seeking a ‘no-strings-attached’ hookup in Los Angeles on a Saturday night but after ending up in a dangerous situation, summons her inner superhero to break free. According to Eric, the donations made for the film on Indiegogo will help to bring this inspirational film of sisterhood and love to life and will also offer a new, more positive narrative of LGBTQ stories to the public.
