Total Training for Adobe After Effects CS3: KeyingWorking with the different color channels also touched on
Learn all about the keying tools in After Effects CS3 that allow you to shoot something practically and then cut out or isolate a single object. Total Training shows you how it`s done with an overview of the basic keying effects, then walks you through more advanced topics including compositing with keys, rotoscoping with masks and paint tools, cropping with keylight, and much more.
In this clip, host Ko Maruyama covers keying and starts out with an intro to simple keys. He discusses how to prepare shots, such as with live footage and extracting foreground information and leaving the transparent background information as is so you can composite the background information later in After Effects. He also shows how to bring up the different color channels as well as the alpha channel.
