Scholastic Australia today announced a new business agreement with Quark Inc. that solidifies the long-standing relationship between the companies. Through its Media & Technology division, Scholastic will support the complete range of QuarkXPress retail, education, and volume license products for both Mac OS and Windows platforms. The company is scheduled to begin distributing these products on 4 July, 2005.
Scholastic's representation will cover national reseller channels serving the professional, retail, and education markets. Working closely with Quark, the company will provide complete distribution services to the reseller channels. At the same time, the company will provide resources to aid Quark in the development of marketing communications and customer programs, the coordination of training and seminars, and the development of school and tertiary educations channels.
Scholastic's distribution services for Quark will include licensing support through customer services and account management contact with resellers nationally. Advertising and promotional support will be provided through the company's MDF program.
"Scholastic's strength in the Australian education channel is extremely important to Quark," said Gyan Prakash, vice president of sales for the Asia, Middle East, and Africa regions of Quark. "Getting QuarkXPress into classrooms throughout Australia, with the help of Scholastic, means that QuarkXPress will be widely used and will also give Quark insight into what the designers of the future want and need in their tools."
Scholastic's agreement with Quark enhances the publishing software design company's specialization and consolidates its business focus to represent the leading industry standards in design and graphics.
