To help bring the new NFL campaign to stratospheric heights, @radical.media Director Dave Meyers called upon the talents of Zoic Studios. Meyers, a big fan of the TV episodic ?Firefly sought out Zoic as the team responsible for the television programs effects. Meyers worked hand-in-hand with Zoic CG Supervisor Emile Edwin Smith to develop the futuristic aesthetic of the campaign, an homage to space-based television shows and futuristic feature films. The complex spots are representative of Zoics creative palate with effects, character animation and compositing throughout. Each ?episode commercial features various personalities from the NFLs Oakland Raiders, with a small logo with the words ?Space Raiders is displayed at the bottom right of the opening scene. The first commercial introduces each character in a mock show open, while the other two get into the heart of the action, in which the Space Raiders continue their mission to defeat the Bronconians.

In ?Hologram Al we find ourselves in outer space in the midst of a dangerous meteor shower. A spaceship bravely maneuvers through the chaotic debris and inside we find the Space Raiders anxiously moving about. Jim Plunkett attempts to steer the crew to safety and shouts, ?Hold on guys! The rest of the team gathers at the central table of the craft. A hologram image of a man in a white uniform appears. ?Be tough guys, he asserts, ?Be physical! The Bronconians are going down! Just then, the men hear a noise above them. They look up and notice a spider-like creature reminiscent of the eerie tentacle-bearing machines from The Matrix. As the creature, standing over the ceiling grate, is ready to strike, Jerry Rice crushes it with his burly arm and utters to the flattened spider in his hand, ?Didnt mean to bug ya, then tosses it aside. The man in the hologram continues, ?One more thing·- just win baby! The Space Raiders let out a roar of passion and disperse. The spot ends with an NFL Network logo against a black backdrop with the motto ?Imagine the possibilities.

To create the intensive visual effects and animation, Zoic utilized a tool set that included Lightwave, AfterEffects, Combustion and Flame.
