Steinberg Features SX3, Artists at Remix HotelNew version of Cubase and new artists come to the W Hotel in San Francisco (October 22, 2004)
Fans, enthusiasts, and professional musicians and producers of Urban, Electronic and Hip-Hop music will descend upon San Francisco next week for the latest Remix Hotel. Steinberg, The Audio Group of Pinnacle Systems, will once again take center stage with the new version of its legendary line of digital audio sequencers, Cubase SX 3, along with a host of guest appearances by some of the todays hottest artists.
Cubase SX3 offers stunning new features for composition, recording, arranging, and mixing/remixing. Audio Warp, a real-time time stretching and pitch shifting tool, offers new audio and processing capabilities, including ACID file support. Combined with the new Play Order Track, an innovative new tool for pattern-style composition/arranging, Cubase SX3 offers a fresh approach to loop-based music production. The new Inplace Editing system allows convenient editing of MIDI data directly within the Project Window in context with audio and video data. Among more than 70 new features and work-flow enhancements are MIDI Device Maps, Freeze function for MIDI and audio tracks, external plug-ins support for use of outboard gear, and support for 64-bit processors, which allows access to 4GB of available RAM.
Steinberg will also be hosting a variety of guest artists who will showcase their work and how they incorporate Steinberg technology. Among them are Uberzone, Hector Delgado and L. Malcolm Francis. ?Q of Uberzone burst onto the dance scene with a pair of landmark singles, "Botz" and "The Freaks," placing him squarely on the electronic music landscape alongside such acts as the Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, and the Crystal Method. In addition to several solo releases, he has performed for, remixed, and collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including BT, Digweed, Sasha, DJ Rap and Alan Parsons.
Hector Delgado has worked as a producer and engineers for some of the biggest names in R&B, Hip-hop, and Rap including The Fugees, Missy Elliot, Sticky Fingaz and Andre Crouch. He has also worked on major film releases like Save the Last Dance, Jacked, and Torque.
L. Malcolm Francis resume includes stints for MTV, VH1, HBO and ABC as well as work for the urban-music hungry advertising community including Hilfiger, Pepsi, and Budwiser.
Created by Remix Magazine and held at the W Hotel in San Francisco from 4pm to 9pm daily, October 28 through 30, the event will encompass manufacturer demonstrations, professional seminars, VIP appearances, master classes, and some of the best networking the tightly knit urban music industry has to offer.
