Physical Security Expert Dave Jabas Authors Guidebook to Help Educators and Parents Secure Schools and Protect Children by Limiting Access(January 23, 2013)
Apple Valley, WI (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
While the media and lawmakers debate policy and solutions concerning violence in schools, Dave Jabas, veteran expert in high-security locks, electrified hardware and owner of Wholesale Locks, has answers for parents and concerned citizens. His e-book, We Can Protect Our Children: The Guide To Securing Our Schools and Daycares, explains how easy upgrades to existing locks and adding security hardware can keep deadly intrusions at bay and quickly controlled.
Jabas encourages those who download We Can Protect Our Children to take it to schools as a guide for a walk-through. Working with school administrators parents can review existing locks, hardware and security devices utilizing the illustrated guidebook. He and his team will review photos provided by parents and educators to advise schools on the most effective locks and hardware choices for each facility. Recently featured on Cranberry, the eBook is available as a free Kindle download for Amazon Prime members and $.99 for non-prime members.
My goal is to get this guidebook into as many hands as possible. When we have multiple sets of eyes watching out for each other and identifying weak points, it makes it much easier to find and solve any security issues, says Jabas.
His experience with security issues comes from providing hardware or security recommendations for military, the Olympic Games and varied mobile command unit zones throughout the world. Jabas has studied the tragic school shootings of recent years and believes intruders can be slowed and even deterred with the use of proper security on school property as demonstrated in We Can Protect Our Children.
Some people may argue that locks can be defeated. The key point, however, is the correct locks will significantly slow an intruder or discourage the attacker altogether. In situations such as these, giving teachers, administrators, and emergency responders extra time generally equates to saving lives. When a dangerous situation arises in a school building, the big challenge is to change the status of each vulnerable door from unlocked to locked as quickly as possible, Jabas notes.
In addition to using We Can Protect Our Children as a guide, Jabas encourages parents, teachers and school officials to visit the school safety area of his website WholesaleLocks, to see the locks, systems and pricing that are available.
