The Brain Aneurysm Foundation To Host Upcoming Webinars

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, the nations only non-profit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures, will host educational webinars on March 21, 2012 and April 25, 2012. Hosted by leading doctors in the field of Neurology, the presentations are designed to educate and inform patients and their families about brain aneurysms.

On Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Bob Brown, Chair of Neurology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, will host a webinar on Commonly Asked Questions in the Management of Unruptured Brain Aneurysms.

On Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Giuseppe Lanzino, Professor of Neurosurgery at The Mayo Clinic will host a webinar on New Endovascular Options for Brain Aneurysms. This webinar is designed to introduce participants to the latest endovascular options including the Pipeline Embolization Device.

The webinars are designed for individuals who cannot get to a support group meeting or do not have a support group in their area. Participants are able to submit questions to the guest presenter by typing them in. The presenter will answer as many questions as possible during the webinar, which will last 45-60 minutes. The two upcoming webinars are the latest in a series of webinars designed to address topics of interest to patients and their families. It is estimated that more than 6 million people in the United States have an unruptured brain aneurysm. Most are small and an estimated 50 to 80 percent of all aneurysms do not rupture during the course of a persons lifetime. However, in 2012, more than 30,000 people will be affected by a ruptured brain aneurysm. In these cases, recognizing the symptoms early can make a significant difference in the outcome for the patient. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation continues to fund education and research to promote early detection.
