The fall is brimming with educational opportunities. Beth Chaverim is dedicated to providing a comprehensive, vibrant Jewish education program. Their goal is to nurture a positive Jewish identity in students of all ages by teaching Torah, Jewish life cycle events, celebrations and rituals, and Jewish heritage and history. Religious school, held on Sunday mornings, provides Judaic studies, Hebrew, and a music curriculum in an age-appropriate setting. Classes are held from pre-Kindergarten through Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation. Classes begin Sunday, August 26th. A registration form is required for each child attending.

Beth Chaverim offers an evolving and expanding Adult Education program. Introduction to Judaism is being offered this fall, beginning on Sunday, September 9th. This 17-week class will be held Sundays from 9am until noon and will cover such basics as Jewish life cycle events, holy days, theology, conversion, history, and the decoding of Hebrew. This interactive course will involve pre-readings, classes, journaling, discussion, and events such as Shabbat dinner. Though it is not just a conversion course, Introduction to Judaism is a pre-requisite of the choosing Judaism process. The cost for the course is $50 for non-members, and all attendees pay for books & materials (cost TBA). Contact Rabbi Linda Joseph if you are interested in taking this course towards conversion or Adult Ed Coordinator Shelley Sheinwald for general enrollment.

Beth Chaverims Little Latkes programs are designed to help families with young children introduce their little ones to Judaism in an accessible, age-appropriate manner. This programming includes Bagels & Blocks (a mid-week facilitated parenting group), monthly Pajama Havdalah and Tot Shabbat services, and an informal playgroup during Sunday religious school. To ensure affordability, BCRC is now offering reduced dues and deferred building fund payments to families with below school-aged children as well as reduced religious school tuition for pre-K and Kindergarten.
