Tokyo to Host LocWorld36 – Conference Examines the Effects and Challenges of Digital Transformation

The organizers of the conference and exhibition, LocWorld, are producing an Asian version of the event in Tokyo, April 3-5. LocWorld36 Tokyo brings together delegates who are engaged in the business of adapting products, services and communications to an international language or culture so as to appear native to that particular region. Speakers at the conference include representatives from Adobe Systems, Airbnb, Alibaba, Google, favy, IBM, IKEA, King, NetApp, Netflix, Salesforce, VMware, Venga, Yamaha Corporation and many others. Approximately 300 delegates representing all manner of industries are expected to attend.

“We're excited about returning to Tokyo," says Donna Parrish, publisher of the magazine MultiLingual and co-organizer of LocWorld. “Tokyo is an excellent host city with an incredible number of business and cultural opportunities. Registrations are very strong and it promises to be an outstanding event."

Ulrich Henes, the conference co-organizer and president of The Localization Institute, says, LocWorld is valuable for people responsible for communicating across the boundaries of language and culture. “Our program consists of proven strategies on managing multiple language content, translation tools, quality control, and effectively reaching international audiences."

The keynote will be delivered by Kaori Sasaki, CEO and cofounder of ewoman, Inc., an influential think tank and diversity consultancy that provides marketing, branding, product development and training to major corporations. She also founded and produced the International Conference for Women in Business in 1996, now the largest annual working women's conference in Japan.

Kaori traveled to more than 30 countries as an international news reporter for Japan's top-rated news show and anchored the CBS 60 Minutes show in Japan. She has written several best sellers including Time Management and Seven Concepts for a More Rewarding Life.

The preconference day provides sessions that include an introduction-to-localization workshop, round tables on game localization and sales and marketing.

Attendees may choose from nine topic areas during the main conference program: Advanced Localization Management, Community, Content Management, Global Business, Language Service Providers, Localization for Asia, TAUS, Technical, and Unconference.

Some highlighted presentations include:
