The Zen Speaker Announces Recipient of the First Standing O Award
(November 02, 2012)Las Vegas, N.V. (PRWEB) November 02, 2012
Public speaking can be a daunting task that leaves many feeling anxious and overwhelmed. It is through speeches and presentations delivered calmly, confidently, and compellingly that audiences are moved to their feet and inspired to action. For these inspiring moments, Amy Ayoub, President of The Zen Speaker, has created the Standing O Award. This award recognizes speakers from around the country who put their time and effort into preparing presentations in a way that leaves the audience convinced of the speakers passion and commitment. The Standing O Award will be presented monthly for powerful presentations through an online nomination process.
The first Standing O Award is presented to Caroline Ciocca, Director of Community Relations for SuperPawn, for her outstanding acceptance speech at Spread the Word Nevadas annual event. Having witnessed Cioccas moving speech, Ayoub is proud to rise and give her a Standing O. Caroline set the bar high for future award winnersher speech not only merited a standing ovation from the audience but cemented her place as the first recipient of The Zen Speakers Standing O Award, said Ayoub.
For Ciocca, taking a risk when delivering her acceptance speech at The Storybook Gala paid off. She presented a playful storybook-themed speech, starting with once upon a time and ending with happily ever after. Ciocca delivered substantial content in an enjoyable and entertaining format while also incorporating the organizations mission of promoting youth literacy. "This would have been impossible even two years ago," Ciocca said when she was notified of the recognition. "It's only been with consistent practice and anxiety-controlling breathing exercises that I have conquered the fear I used to experience. Now, I look forward to making presentations!"
The Standing O Award was developed by Amy Ayoub as a way to recognize those dynamic speakers who deliver speeches and presentations in a calm, confident and compelling manner. For those who have seen a notable speech or presentation that is worthy of a Standing O, nominations are accepted online via the Standing O Award website. Nominations must be received by the 10th of the month following the month the speech was delivered.
Amy Ayoub, a public speaking and presentation skills coach, is hailed for her ability to help clients easily conquer their fear of speaking in public and the ease with which she shows them how to make small changes in speeches that allow them to be calm, confident and compelling.
