Plumbworld Add Recommended Products To Website

  (October 19, 2012)

Evesham, Worcestershire (PRWEB UK) 19 October 2012

Plumbworld are never one to just sit back and enjoy the profits; instead, theyre constantly looking for new ways to improve the website to provide a better experience for their customers and visitors. This mindset is something to behold in this day and age when most organisations are purely about money, rather than catering to the customers that are at the heart of the business.

Over the past couple of weeks, web developers have worked continuously in an effort to put out a new set of features which have been in the pipeline for months. Although the new features arent coding marvels, they look to be extremely beneficial to those who visit the website unsure on what to buy.

One of the main features that the site has incorporated is a recommended products tab that is prominent at the top of category pages. For example, in the bathroom section of the website, the page is split into a variety of groups including all the regular bathroom equipment along with things such as extractor fans and bathroom lighting. At the top of this page is a recommended product from one of the sub-groups in the category; in this case its a walnut vanity unit.

The idea behind recommended or featured products is that it will help users stumble upon things that they may not have necessarily thought of before hand. Scott Morris, E-Commerce Manager at Plumbworld commented on the positive effects of this website update:

There are many advantages to this newly implemented feature, most noticeable to us is obviously the increased visibility of popular products on the website. Someone might come to Plumbworld looking for a cheap shower and then be persuaded to pay an extra £70 after seeing a recommended shower that has over 50 reviews and isnt too far outside the original price they wanted to pay. The other upside is that people may likely find products that they didnt even know they wanted... In our category pages we will randomise recommended products from sub-groups, so although you might be interested in bathrooms, the product featured might actually be from the bathroom lighting group which could spark new interest! It really is a versatile feature and were extremely happy that its been rolled out across the site.

Its clear that this feature has so far been successful and its not hard to see why when people are shown products which have been peer reviewed by hundreds of people. This will definitely leave people wondering what the next feature on the website will be...

Plumbworld.co.uk is hosted on the large Online Home Retail network at present. The network currently hosts 50 niche-specific websites which sell a whole range of products, varying from cheap woodburners and cordless power tools all the way to plant pots & other gardening equipment. Online Home Retail Limited was originally Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a brand overhaul in June 2012. The business now employs close to 60 people in its purpose built warehouse and offices whilst turning over in excess of £20 million per year.
