Meso Foundation to Broadcast Mesothelioma Conference Live Online

The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (Meso Foundation) will once again broadcast the programming of its annual conference via a live stream available on its website, free of charge. The Meso Foundation understands that many mesothelioma patients are unable to travel, and has therefore made available online, free of charge, all conference presentations. To watch the conference programming from the comfort of ones home requires only a computer (or tablet/smart phone) and an internet connection. Mesothelioma, a malignant tumor of the lining of the lung, abdomen, or heart known to be caused by exposure to asbestos is considered one of the most aggressive of all cancers. Approximately 3,000 Americans are diagnosed with mesothelioma every year, and immediately they are faced with the huge challenge of finding a specialist, finding mesothelioma information and making decisions about treatment. Currently, only one FDA-approved chemotherapy treatment exists, however several clinical trials and options for surgery are available.
