MATERIAL OPTIONS By Jamal "Nimpsy" Qutub
Sometimes the best way to learn something is to deconstruct a completed project.  In this series of presets, a team of DMN readers got together to make some CINEMA4D textures.  While the materials are mostly based on simple parameters, it may help you to understand how a texture is made.

There are so many different elements to a single material, and within each of those material parameters, there are several more options that create an almost infinite possibility for creating textures for your 3D object.

In the MATERIAL OPTIONS SERIES, we'll create sets that you can download for free, disassemble and configure for yourself.    By downloading the preset, you'll get all of the textures together.  At a later point in time, we'll make catalogues of textures available to download for free.

Does it seem easy?  Let's see what you've got.  Send submissions for publication to komaruyama (that's me) at

This week DMN FORUM LEADER, Jamal Qutub starts us out with the first 5 in the series.  If you have questions for Jamal, you can hit him up in the boards at the link below.  Jamal and I worked on a SNICKERS project together, so it's only fitting that the first texture in this massive series is a chocolate material.
