Jared Cohn Achieves Realistic Cinematic Look on "Wishing for a Dream"
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Grants a Wish
In making an independent film about the film industry and the journey of pursuing the Hollywood dream, the last thing Director Jared Cohn wanted was for it to look fake. Especially when the film was one of the most meaningful projects he had ever created. "The film looks almost like a documentary, but it's completely narrative and scripted. Since I made it on my own dime, the only way I was able to achieve such as realistic look was with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera," said Jared. "The camera's dynamic range provided such an authentic look at an affordable price, and many people think it's a documentary because it looks so realistic. Read More

Samsung Electronics Profit Seen Bottoming In Third Quarter Ahead Of Slow Recovery
Samsung Electronics Profit Seen Bottoming In Third Quarter Ahead Of Slow Recovery
Samsung Electronics' profit is seen weakening further in the third-quarter, underscoring the downturn in its market-leading smartphone business and piling pressure on the firm to deliver a revamped product lineup. Analysts forecast the world's largest smartphone maker, which is due to give its July-September earnings guidance on or around Oct 7, to show its worst operating profit in nearly three years, with a slow recovery seen starting in the fourth quarter. Analysts and investors say Samsung's days of massive smartphone-driven earnings are over, as Apple grabs the lion's share of profits at the high end of the market and Chinese makers of cheap and feature-rich smartphones, like Lenovo and Xiaomi, erode margins at the low end.

BlackBerry Buys Movirtu In Bid To Woo More Corporate Customers
BlackBerry said on Thursday it has acquired Movirtu, a provider of virtual identity solutions, as part of its move to continue building out its portfolio of value-added services that cater to the needs of its core base of corporate and government clients. Waterloo, Ontario-based BlackBerry said Movirtu's virtual SIM technology allows an individual to have both a personal and business number on a single mobile device, with separate billing for voice, data and messaging usage on each number. This allows employees to switch between work and personal profiles easily without carrying multiple devices or SIM cards. BlackBerry said the acquisition of Movirtu complements its Secure Work Space, BlackBerry Balance and other offerings, which give many employees the freedom and privacy they want for their personal use while delivering the security and management needed for business use of smartphone devices.
