FAIRLIGHT INTRODUCES XSTREAM, A COST EFFECTIVE DESKTOP CONTROLLER FOR ALL-IN-ONE EDITING, MIXING AND RECORDING

DMN Newswire--2012-10-16--In a move to address broader markets with a high-powered audio post production system, Fairlight will debut the XSTREAM, a new tactile, ultra compact desktop control surface for Fairlight's CC-1 Media Engine at AES in San Francisco from October 27 - 29. The XSTREAM is a cost effective option suited for audio and video engineers working in the post-production fields of advertising, TV production and music project recording.

XSTREAM delivers pure intuitive, tactile control- no need for mouse, tabs or drop down menus - through the ergonomic design and fast operation of a robust and attractive control surface. The unique picture keys self-label instantly for easy navigation with fewer keystrokes, providing even better efficiency. The control surface literally reinvents itself for each task one performs, presenting the commands at the right time. Fairlight's new iCan (Integrated Control Across Network) technology with drag-and-drop layout editor allows audio engineers to design their own button layout for specialized functions and greater accessibility. This technology allows for easy modification of the layout of the functions on the keys as well as allows the controller to be used with other applications. Up to 24 faders can also be added in blocks of six to enhance the mixing capability of XSTREAM.

The XSTREAM control surface includes QWERTY functionality for naming, and still has an amazingly compact footprint smaller than a 17" laptop, while enabling advanced control macro development.

The powerful CC-1 media engine can be configured with up to 192 disk recorder tracks, 230 mixing channels and 2 HD video tracks for 3D work. The XSTREAM supports up to 256 audio inputs and outputs, built-in EQ and dynamics for every channel, full integration of VST plug-ins and instruments, and mixing to multiple bus destinations up to 7.1 wide.
