Cinefex Publishes iPad Edition

Riverside, CA, August 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Cinefex announced recently that it has begun publishing an iPad edition of its popular film magazine.

Cinefex is a quarterly magazine devoted to motion picture visual effects. Since 1980, it has been the bible for effects professionals and enthusiasts, going behind the scenes to offer a first-hand look at the technologies and techniques behind many of Hollywood’s biggest and most enduring movies.

The Cinefex iPad edition is an enhanced version of the print magazine, designed and formatted specifically for the world’s most popular tablet computer. It contains all of the articles, photographs and ads appearing in the Cinefex print edition, but is more expansive -- and experiential.

Says Cinefex publisher Don Shay: “I can’t think of another publication whose subject matter is better suited to iPad presentation that Cinefex. Each iPad article contains, on average, twice as many photographs as our print articles; and many are interactive, allowing readers to see exactly how visual effects come together. Most of our articles also incorporate video clips and breakdowns of specific effects shots and sequences.”

The Cinefex app is a free download. So, too, is the first Cinefex iPad issue. Subsequent issues will cost $4.99 each, with four-issue subscriptions available in the Apple iTunes store for $18.99.
