US-CHECKPOINTSOFTWARE-RESULTS:Check Point Software Q3 profit beats estimatesTEL AVIV (Reuters) - Internet and network security provider Check Point Software Technologies <CHKP.O> posted higher quarterly profit on Wednesday that slightly beat expectations on strong demand in North America.
The Israel-based company posted earnings per share excluding one-off items of 79 cents in the third quarter, compared with 72 cents a year earlier. Revenue rose 8 percent to $332.4 million.
Check Point had been expected to earn 78 cents a share on revenue of $332.4 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
"Third quarter results continued to be good with healthy growth in enterprise appliance units and software blade sales," Check Point Chairman and CEO Gil Shwed said, noting revenue and EPS were in the upper half of the company's projections.
"Geographically, North America continued to deliver great results with double digit growth in product and service revenues," he said in a statement.
