Previews Video Toaster 2.0 at NAB
Never-Before-Seen Capabilities and Faster Performance, Still
Inexpensive and Easy to Operate
LAS VEGAS, (April 10, 2000) -- NAB (National Association of
Broadcasters) Conference -- NewTek (Booth S4931), manufacturer
of industry-leading 3D animation and video products, previewed
some of the groundbreaking technological advancements that will
be included in Video Toaster 2.0, the next generation of the
desktop video tool that has revolutionized video production.
Video Toaster 2.0 will be formally introduced in the second
half of 2000.
"Video production people will be blown away by the speed
and breakthrough capabilities of Video Toaster 2.0 -- all the
more so when they find out later this year how inexpensively
they can get hold of it," said Tim Jenison, CEO and
founder of NewTek. "Video Toaster 2.0 will take video production
to heights never before imagined, while maintaining the same
friendly, easy-to-use demeanor of the preceding Video Toaster
versions."
On the main stage of the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters)
conference Booth S4931, being held here from April 10 to 13
NewTek will demonstrate some of the highlights of the Video
Toaster 2.0, including:
- --
The Video Toaster Storyboard Editor allows users to drag and
drop clips into a project for immediate playback. The Storyboard
Editor makes it fast and easy to manipulate audio or video
in and out points, scrub through an entire project or jump
to a specific clip, or export a Storyboard production as an
AVI file to any third-party software or to the timeline editor
of in-sync's Speed Razor, without rendering. In addition,
users can choose a different look for each mood or client
thanks to Video Toaster 2.0's use of "skins" technology, which
is becoming all the rage on the Internet.
- --
The on-screen 24-input live production switcher provides Program,
Preview and DSK (downstream key) at a user's fingertips. Effects
can be pre-loaded on the switcher or simply dragged onto the
switcher for fast loading. In addition, the switcher's output
can be captured real time to the system's video drives. The
Video Toaster 2.0 switcher makes it affordable and fun to
digitize, batch capture, print to tape and record live events.
- --
The real-time digital video effects feature breaks new ground
in Video Toaster 2.0, with the ability to use shadows, reflections,
refractions, fog, lens flares, smoke, radiosity, caustics
and surfacing filters, in real time. No other DVE generator
can offer these capabilities in real time, at any price.
- --
The keyer in Video Toaster 2.0 allows for real-time chroma
and luma keying, creating beautiful, smooth edges as a result
of the Video Toaster's flexible linear key output.
- --
Streaming video output empowers users to broadcast their work
to the world, even if they can't afford to purchase their
own TV station. Video Toaster 2.0 delivers the ability to
stream live programs or edited productions, moving from initial
edits to worldwide premier without any additional hardware
or software.
Importantly, users of Video Toaster 1.0 will be able to upgrade
all their capabilities easily and affordably to Video Toaster
2.0 as soon as it is available.
Price
and Availability
Video Toaster 2.0 will be formally introduced and made available
in the second half of 2000. In the meantime, users can purchase
Video Toaster version 1.0 now from dealers worldwide for $2,995.00.
Owners of Video Toaster NT will have an easy upgrade path to
Video Toaster 2.0 as soon as it is available.
