Discreet
Delivers Viewpoint Technology as In-Box Authoring Solution For
3ds max 4
NEW YORK --(Jan. 31, 2001)-- Viewpoint Corporation announced
that Discreet, a division of Autodesk,Inc.is bundling Viewpoint's
premier rich media authoring solution with the newest version
of Discreet's leading professional 3D graphics application,
3ds max 4.
Viewpoint provides 3ds max 4 users an immediate and viable solution
for translating their 3ds max content into the Viewpoint file
format via Viewpoint's authoring solution, SceneBuilder (also
available for download at http://www.viewpoint.com).
This collaboration is the natural next step of the strategic
agreement signed between the two companies in July 2000. 3ds
max 4 began shipping on Wednesday, January 24, 2001.

for delivering richly rendered and interactive 3D content over
the Internet," said Phillip Miller, senior director
of Discreet software products. "3ds max artists comprise
the single largest high-end 3D user base in the world and Viewpoint

In addition to the bundle agreement, Discreet has invited Viewpoint
to attend its rollout tour of 3ds max 4, slated for January
29 through March 8 and spanning 12 cities across North America.

contingent of 3D artists to bring their work to the Web,"
