Artesyn
Communication Products Uses Cycore Cult3D to Enhance Product
Visualization
SAN MATEO, CA. --(Jan.
30, 2001)--
Cycore, the leader in 3D graphics software for e-business, announced
that Artesyn Communication Products has posted a Cycore Cult3D
product model to the Artesyn Web site. Artesyn, a leading supplier
of communication controllers and high-speed WAN interfaces,
launched the model of its PM/3G-E1/T1 telecommunications board
in January and plans to launch four more product models in Cult3D
before year-end.
With Cult3D, viewers can rotate, move and fully manipulate a
detailed, interactive 3D model of the PM/3G-E1/T1 board to examine
the individual components incorporated into the board. Viewers
can mouse-click on specific chips or processors to receive detailed
information on the board's features. With 3D viewing of products
on the site, Artesyn offers its customers the ability to quickly
view product specifications for their designs.
Artesyn field sales can show partner companies and potential
customers the model and detailed features easily, without having
an actual board in hand. This is beneficial since the boards
are expensive and can be damaged by constant travel and handling.
With the "virtual board" available online, more customers can
view the board simultaneously, zooming in on detailed features
that may be hard to see on the actual board.
Artesyn is also using the model in internal sales training,
a practice which the company reports has been very popular with
the sales trainees. The company recently hired a number of additional
sales staff and have incorporated the model into the sales training
presentations, allowing new staff to interact with the detailed
model.
"This technology provides a very feature-rich enhancement
to our Web site and PowerPoint presentations and also provides
our customers with a detailed view of how our products can be
applied in their designs," said Jeff Durst, director
of product marketing, Artesyn. "We believe this can significantly
enhance the design process for our customers and we plan to
use Cult3D technology to enhance sales of our flagship products
over the next several months. And besides, it's really cool."
Artesyn chose eCreators, Inc., a Cult3D Channel Partner, to
create the 3D model of their PM/3G-E1/T1 board. Barry Blackman,
chief creative officer for eCreators, said his staff used Cult3D
technology to add animation and interactivity to the model and
to save it as a Web-enabled object. "Cult3D made it possible
to illustrate the unique features of this CPU board in an exciting
way," said Blackman. "For all of the incredible functionality
it offers, Cult3D is still very easy to use, which is an added
bonus," he continued.
To view the 3D model of the PM/3G-E1/T1 board, go to Artesyn
Communication Products' home page at http://www.artesyncp.com,
and click on the "See the 3G in 3D" button. Visitors who do
not have the Cycore Cult3D Viewer can download it at no cost
through any Web browser.
