Line Wrap Page 4 of 6 For now, let’s get back to how we can stroke around a logo. Step 1: Create a New Composition in After Effects. For this exercise, I am using the DV preset with a length of 2 seconds.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Step 2: Create a New Solid and make it the same size as the Composition. Step 3: Using the Pen Tool create an open ended mask that is larger than the Comp area. (You will need to zoom out from your Comp area to do this.) ![]() Step 4: To this layer apply the 3D Stroke effect. For this effect, I set the Thickness to 5 and the Feather amount to 100. For the moment, I am not going to worry about the Start, End or Offset values. However, Start determines where along the path the effect will begin drawing, End determines where it will end, and Offset allows you to move the stroke along the path without having to animate the Start and End values. This is very useful if you have a long path and want a stroke that is 50 pixels long to move down the entire length. Step 5: Twirl down the Taper property. Enable the Taper property and also turn on Compress to Fit. Compress to Fit the tapered stroke is compressed to fit inside the Start and End sliders. While it may seem to have no bearing since our Start and End values cover the entire path, it will later, so go ahead and turn it on now. ![]() Prev 1 2 3 4 5 6 Next [an error occurred while processing this directive] ![]() |
