I did mention that 3D Stroke does create an effect in 3D space. You can adjust the rotation of the shape on any axis to change the perspective and view of the shape.

Rotation around the X axis

Rotation around the Z axis


There is even a built in camera that allowsyou to move through your shape. For users of After Effects 5 and higher, you can even use the programs own 3D Camera to move around the shape.

Moving through a 3D Stroke object can create very interesting results
