Corel Updates Painter Corel Painter 8 is designed to emulate traditional media tools, such as pencils, paints, charcoal and the like. It includes more than 400 new brushes in more than 30 different media categories. It also includes an interactive "Brush Creator" for users to design their own brushes in a visual environment. The new 8.1 version brings back custom palettes from version 7 and also offers about two dozen bug fixes. Some of these include fixes to systems running a Wacom Cintiq tablet in a dual-monitor configuration; interface anomalies; situations that caused crashes, such as increasing brush size with a keyboard shortcut or saving files to a directory that included a period character; CPU usage issues; pressure sensitivity and eraser issues with some tablets; and various issues arising from the Mac OS X 10.3 update.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Corel Painter 8.1 is available now as a free update for current users for Mac OS X and Windows.
