Tutorial
Juggling Fire Page 2 of 4 Step 6: Set up your tracking controls as you would any normal tracking operation. If you need more information on how to track data in After Effects, you can check out my AE Motion Tracking tutorial elsewhere on this site. ![]() ![]() Step 8: While Particleillusion will accept AVI files as a background, I have found that once I have acquired my tracking data, that I don’t really need a moving image for reference, but rather a still frame for initial placement of the particles. For this exercise, I captured a still image from the first frame of the timeline and saved it as a JPG file. Step 9: Launch Particleillusion and under View>Project Settings, adjust your project preferences to match your final After Effects composition. ![]() Step 10: By default Particleillusion creates a starting layer for you (Layer 0), you can add additional layers if need be, but for this example, we can use just the one. Right+click on this layer and select Background Image to load the still frame we created a moment ago. ![]() Select the background image and press OK. If your project is not the same size as your background image, you will be asked if the project should change dimensions to match. This is handy if you don’t set the settings in the Project Settings correctly. Step 11: Now for the fun stuff. Find an appropriate particle emitter – in my case the Flare Flicker - and in the Project Window click and place the emitter over the ball you tracked in After Effects. ![]() Prev 1 2 3 4 Next [an error occurred while processing this directive] ![]() |
