Mini DV and DV/DVCam Top Video Acquisition Formats, according to SCRI/DMN Digital Facility Survey

According to the SCRI/DMN Digital Media Facility Trends Report (http://www.scri.com/2002facility.html), over half of all digital media facilities polled (53.7%) reported supporting Mini DV for video acquisition in 2002. DV/DV Cam ranked a close second with almost half of all facilities (47.2%) supporting this format. VHS / S-VHS ranked third with 42.9%. Rounding out the top five acquisition formats were Betacam / SP (36.3%) and MPEG-2 (29.4%). The full list of acquisition formats is shown in the following table and chart. Note that percentages exceed 100% due to the multiple response option, indicating that facilities use more than one format type.
