PARK CITY, Utah (Jan. 02, 2002) -- The deans from six film schools will gather here to discuss the future of filmmaking during the 2002 Sundance Film Festival, on January 15 at 2 p.m. at the Buona Vita Restaurant. "There are many issues facing the next generation of filmmakers," says Kodak's Gayle Barnes. "These deans are poised to face them and take them on through their educational programs. Every can benefit from what these deans have to say."
Deans from the American Film Institute (Carolyn Pfeiffer), Chapman University (Bob Bassett), Florida State University (Ray Fielding), University of California, Los Angeles (Robert Rosen), University of Southern California (Elizabeth Daley) and New York University (Mary Schmidt Campbell) will address the recent hype over digital filmmaking, diversity, the collaborative art of filmmaking, the responsibility of being a filmmaker, and what the impact of the future of the cinema, television and broadband will have on careers.
