REZN8
Produces Cinematics for World Stunt Awards
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. --(Jun. 18, 2001)--
The Taurus World Stunt Awards Foundation turned to REZN8, a
Hollywood digital design and communication company, to develop
a graphics and animation package for the first annual World
Stunt Awards telecast.
REZN8 was responsible for the design, production and animation
of the computer-generated opening sequence and transition segments
for the event.
World Stunt Awards executive producer Mitch Geller looked
to incorporate visual effects that embodied the proud and strong
stature of the very first Taurus award. The opening sequence
for the telecast began with a shimmering star that releases
the Taurus and returns it to Earth cast as a gleaming golden
statuette. REZN8 received the physical statuette which was then
modeled in 3ds max. Textures were created by the blending of
paint techniques.
REZN8 animators
Peter Smith, Shannon McGee and David Humpherys,
working under the art direction of Angela Chu, created
the spot using 3ds max, Adobe Phtoshop and After Effects running
on 933MHz dual Pentium 3 systems with 2GB RAM and FireGL OpenGL
graphics cards. The lighting and effects were done with the
lighting tools in 3ds max and After Effects.
The job, from conception to finish, took approximately two months
to complete.
"REZN8
produced sequences that visually capture the spirit of what
the award represents and the caliber of the people being honored,"
said Geller. "REZN8's production of the vital opening sequence
for the World Stunt Awards telecast played a major role in successfully
inaugurating our event, presenting visual effects and images
that were unique and compelling."
"REZN8's goal was to create stimulating effects that would inspire
the viewer in realizing the significance of the Taurus award,"
said REZN8 President Paul Sidlo. "It was an honor to
be chosen by the Taurus Foundation to produce the sequences
that were central to this prestigious event."
The World Stunt Awards for outstanding stunt performances was
presented on June 16, 2001, at the Santa Monica Air Center's
Barker Hanger. Information about the World Stunt Awards is available
